Dr. Avni Patel Dhaliwal

Dr. Avni Patel Dhaliwal was raised in the foothills of North Carolina. She received her BS in Psychology and BS in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. She decided to continue her education at the top ranked dental school at UNC and obtained her Doctor in Dental Surgery from there in 2009.

After dental school Dr. Dhaliwal began practicing in Illinois. Eight years of brutal winters later, she and her husband decided to move their family down to the Orlando area, bringing them closer to friends, family and warmer weather.

Throughout her career Dr. Dhaliwal has enjoyed giving back to her community. She has devoted her free time and resources to help the underserved population. She enjoys participating in missions of mercy clinics, where she provides dental treatment to those that cannot afford it. She was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship for implementing an oral healthcare program in the geriatric population residing in assisted living facilities.

One of her most memorable experiences was a mission trip to Mexico where she provided free dental care to children at an orphanage. She strives to bring this type of compassion to every patient she encounters in order to make their experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

In her free time she enjoys traveling, running, spending time with her husband, their two daughters and of course cheering on her Tar Heels.

Dr. Dhaliwal is Invisalign certified. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando.

She also is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education beyond graduation as only about 6% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows.
